The FAB Button

The FAB (Floating Action Button) is the round + button at the bottom of your screen. It's the hub of OENARI — one tap opens every core action in the app, from adding wines and recording tastings to relocating bottles and pairing wine with food.

Actions

Tap the FAB to open a menu with seven actions, organized into three groups.

Add Wine

Add a new bottle to your collection. OENARI gives you several ways to find and register a wine:

  • Scan Label — Photograph the wine label. OENARI interprets it and suggests matching wines from the database.
  • Scan EAN — Scan the barcode on a bottle. OENARI looks it up against 183,000+ wines and auto-fills the details.
  • Search — Type a wine name, producer, or region to find it manually.
  • Create New — If the wine doesn't exist in the database, create a new entry from scratch.

Consume Wine

Record that you've opened and consumed a bottle. Search for the wine in your active collection, select the specific bottle, and add details like occasion, rating, and notes. The bottle moves from your active inventory to your consumed history.

Taste Wine

Create a tasting note for any wine — whether it's from your cellar or something you're tasting at a restaurant, event, or friend's house. OENARI supports structured tasting with WSET-aligned evaluation. See Taste Notes for the full guide.

Add to Wishlist

Spotted a wine you'd like to buy later? Search or scan to identify it, then save it to your wishlist with a target price, priority, and personal notes.

Relocate Wine in My Cellar

Move a bottle from one slot to another. Scan the bottle's EAN barcode to identify it instantly, then select the new destination — no searching required. This is the fastest way to reorganize your cellar.

Pair Wine → Food

Pick a wine from your collection and get food pairing suggestions that complement it. See Match Wine to Food for more.

Pair Food → Wine

Start with a dish or ingredient and find wines from your collection that pair well with it. See Match Food to Wine for more.

Where Does the FAB Appear?

The FAB is available on the main screens — Home, My Wines, and My Cellar. It stays anchored to the bottom of the screen and is always one tap away.

On detail screens (like a specific wine or rack view), the FAB is hidden to keep the interface clean.

Tips

  • EAN scanning is the fastest way to add wines. Most commercial bottles have a barcode — one scan and OENARI does the rest.
  • Relocating by scan is effortless. Scan the barcode, tap the new slot, done. No need to search for the wine first.
  • Use Consume right after opening a bottle. It takes a few seconds and keeps your cellar accurate.
  • Tasting doesn't require ownership. Record notes for wines at restaurants or events without adding them to your collection.
