The FAB Button

The FAB (Floating Action Button) is the round + button in the middle of the tab bar. One tap opens the core actions of OENARI: adding wines, consuming them, recording tastings and more.

Tap the FAB to open a menu with four large cards and two rows below them.

Add wine

Add a new bottle to your collection. OENARI asks how you want to find the wine:

  • Search manually — type a wine name, producer or vintage.
  • Scan wine label Supporter — photograph the label. OENARI reads it and suggests the matching wine.
  • Scan barcode — scan the barcode on the bottle. If the barcode is known, the wine is found at once.

If the wine isn't in the database, you can create it from its label or fill it in yourself. Then set the vintage, price and quantity — and, with Supporter or Premium, place the bottles in your cellar straight away. See Adding Your First Wine for a step-by-step guide.

Consume wine

Record that a bottle has left your cellar. Search your cellar for the wine, pick the specific bottle if you have more than one, then choose what happened — drank, sold, gifted, spoiled, broken, lost or other — and the date. You can add a private note. After drinking, OENARI offers to rate the wine with an OP Score.

A sale needs the purchase price on the bottle, so OENARI can show the result. The bottle moves from your active inventory to the Consumed list.

Taste wine

Create a tasting note for any wine — whether it's from your cellar or something you're tasting at a restaurant, event or friend's house. Search for the wine by name; if it isn't in the database, add it and come straight back to the note. OENARI supports structured tasting with WSET-aligned evaluation Supporter. Spotted a wine you'd like to buy later? Search for it by name, then save it with an optional vintage, target price, priority and note.

Relocate wine in my cellar Supporter

Move a bottle from one slot to another. Scan the bottle's barcode, confirm the wine (and pick the bottle if you have several), then tap the new slot. This uses the camera, so it is in the mobile apps only.

Look up a wine you own: scan its barcode or search your wines by name, and see its full history and serving recommendations. See Wine History.

Where Does the FAB Appear?

The FAB sits in the tab bar, so it is there on every screen that shows the tab bar — Home, My Wines, My Cellar and Menu, including a module's rack grid.

Food pairing

Wine → Food and Food → Wine are in the Menu, not in the FAB. See Match Wine to Food and Match Food to Wine.

Tips

  • Barcode scanning is the quickest way to add a known wine. Most commercial bottles have one, and scanning them helps the community too.
  • Relocating by scan is quick. Scan the barcode, tap the new slot, done. No need to search for the wine first.
  • Use Consume right after opening a bottle. It takes a few seconds and keeps your cellar accurate.
  • Tasting doesn't require ownership. Record notes for wines at restaurants or events without adding them to your collection.
