Export Your Data

OENARI gives you full control over your data. You can export your cellar, tasting notes, and consumption history at any time — either for backup, migration, or sharing.

Your data, always portable

OENARI is built on the principle that your wine data belongs to you. Every export option produces open formats (CSV, Excel, or PDF) that work in any spreadsheet or document viewer.

Cellar export

Export your entire active cellar — every bottle, its location, vintage, price, and metadata — as a CSV file.

How to export

  1. Open OENARI → MenuExport Cellar.
  2. Choose what to include:
    • Active bottles only — current inventory
    • Include consumed — adds archived bottles with consumption dates
    • Include wishlist — adds items from your wishlist
  3. Tap Export.
  4. OENARI generates a CSV file and opens the system share sheet — save to Files, email it, or send to another app.

What's included

Each row represents one physical bottle (OENARI's slot-based model means no aggregated quantities). Columns include:

  • Wine name, producer, vintage
  • Color, wine type, style
  • Country, region, subregion, appellation
  • Grape varietals
  • Classification
  • Purchase date, purchase price, currency, vendor
  • Bottle size
  • Drink from / drink to
  • Cellar, rack, and slot location
  • Section membership
  • Tags
  • Notes
  • Created and updated timestamps

Free tier

Free users get a basic cellar export with wine name, producer, vintage, color, and quantity. To export full metadata including location, price, and drinking windows, upgrade to Supporter or Premium.

Tasting notes

Export your tasting notes for backup, sharing with other sommeliers, or printing.

CSV export (Supporter and Premium)

  1. Open OENARI → MenuExport Tastings.
  2. Select the format: CSV.
  3. Choose filters:
    • All notes
    • Notes from a specific date range
    • Notes for a specific wine color or region
  4. Tap Export.

Each note includes:

  • Wine name, producer, vintage
  • Tasting date
  • WSET structured evaluation (if you use it)
  • OP score and personal rating
  • Photos (as separate files in the ZIP)
  • Free-text observations
  • Occasion and food pairings

PDF export (Premium only)

Premium users can export tasting notes as a professionally formatted PDF:

  1. Open OENARI → MenuExport Tastings.
  2. Select the format: PDF.
  3. Choose a layout:
    • One per page — full detail, ideal for printing
    • Summary list — compact, multiple notes per page
  4. Tap Generate PDF.

The PDF includes OENARI's structured WSET layout, your OP scores, and any photos you've attached.

Wine lists

Create curated lists of wines from your cellar for specific occasions — dinners, tastings, or shared events.

How to create and export a wine list

  1. Open OENARI → MenuWine PortfolioCreate List.
  2. Name the list (e.g., "Saturday Dinner Party").
  3. Add wines from your cellar — either manually or by filter (region, color, drinking window).
  4. Tap Export and choose CSV or PDF.

Wine lists are useful for sharing what you plan to serve without exposing your full inventory.

Insurance report

Premium users can generate a formal insurance report suitable for submitting to insurers for coverage or claim purposes.

How to generate

  1. Open OENARI → MenuInsurance Export.
  2. Select the cellar or cellars to include.
  3. Choose a valuation method:
    • Purchase price — based on what you paid
    • Current market value — based on current estimates (where available)
    • Replacement value — based on current retail pricing
  4. Optionally add contact and policy details.
  5. Tap Generate Report to produce a PDF.

What's included

  • Full inventory with per-bottle and total valuation
  • Purchase dates and vendors
  • Cellar location details
  • Summary statistics (total bottles, total value, by region, by vintage)
  • Report generation date and unique report ID
  • Your contact information (optional)

Data format reference

OENARI CSV exports follow these conventions:

  • Encoding: UTF-8 with BOM (opens correctly in Excel, Google Sheets, and Numbers)
  • Delimiter: Comma (,)
  • Quote character: Double quote (")
  • Date format: ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DD)
  • Decimal separator: Period (.)
  • Multi-value fields: Semicolon-separated (e.g., grapes: Pinot Noir; Gamay)

If you need a specific format variant for your workflow, contact support.

Automated exports

Coming in a future release

Scheduled automatic exports to cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud) are planned for a future release. Sign up for the newsletter to be notified.

Migrating to another platform

If you're leaving OENARI (we'd hate to see you go, but we respect it), your data is always yours.

  • To CellarTracker: Export your cellar as CSV, then use CellarTracker's bulk import facility.
  • To InVintory, Vivino, or others: Export as CSV and use their respective import tools. You may need to rename column headers to match their expected format.
  • For complete backup: Export cellar + tasting notes + consumed together. This gives you a full snapshot of everything OENARI knows about your collection.

Before deleting your account, we recommend exporting everything first. See Account Deletion for the deletion process.
