Export Your Data

OENARI gives you full control over your data. You can export your cellar, tasting notes and consumption history at any time — for backup, migration or sharing. Everything is under Menu → Import & Export.

Your data, always portable

OENARI is built on the principle that your wine data belongs to you. Every export produces an open format — CSV, Excel or PDF — that works in any spreadsheet or document viewer. Exports include everything you have, not a first page of it.

On a phone, OENARI creates the file and opens the share sheet — save it to Files, email it or send it to another app. On the web at app.oenari.com, CSV and Excel files download directly, and PDFs open your browser's print dialog: choose Save as PDF.

Backup & export

Menu → Backup & export has two options on one screen.

Basic backup

Your active cellar as a CSV file, one row per bottle. Free for everyone. Columns: wine, producer, vintage, colour, country, region, subregion, appellation, classification, grapes, quantity, bottle size, purchase price, currency, purchase date, vendor, location, drink from, drink to and note.

Full backup Supporter

Everything as one Excel workbook, with a sheet for each part of your collection:

Cellar — the basic backup columns plus estimated value, target sale price, for sale and tags.
Consumed — date, how the bottle left (drunk, sold, gifted …), wine, occasion, OP score, and sale price, buyer and profit or loss for sold bottles.
Tasting Notes — date, wine, OP score, occasion, the WSET structured evaluation (appearance, nose, palate, quality, readiness) and your notes.
Wishlist — wine, target price, priority, reason and note.

Sheets you have nothing in are left out.

Tasting template

Menu → Tasting Template creates printable WSET tasting sheets. Free for everyone.

Blank template — one clean sheet; print as many copies as you need.
Template with my wines — pick wines from your cellar, and each sheet is pre-filled with the wine, producer, vintage, region and grapes.

Wine list Supporter

Menu → Wine List turns wines from your cellar into a PDF to share or print — for a dinner, a tasting or a club evening — without showing your whole cellar. Choose the kind of list:

Wine card — select wines, give the list a title, and group it by country, colour, vintage or name, or not at all.
Per-course menu — up to eight courses, each with a title and up to three wines.

Tap Create PDF.

Drinking history Supporter

Menu → Drinking History creates a chronological journal of the bottles you have drunk, as a PDF. Choose the period — all time, this year or the last 12 months. The document opens with a summary: bottles drunk, distinct wines, date span, most-drunk region and producer, and your average score.

My Tasting Notes Supporter

Menu → My Tasting Notes creates a structured WSET reference of every wine you have evaluated, as a PDF. Choose the period — all time, this year or the last 12 months. A summary at the top shows the number of notes, distinct wines, date span and average score.

Cellar Book Premium

Menu → Export Cellar creates the Cellar Book: a complete inventory of every wine in your cellar as a PDF, ordered by location — a section per storage module, bottles in slot order, and unplaced bottles last. Tap Create cellar book (PDF).

For your data in a spreadsheet, use Backup & export.

Insurance report Premium

Menu → Insurance Report creates a formal valuation report of your cellar for your insurer, as a landscape PDF.

Valuing your bottles

Every bottle has its own line and its own estimated value box, even when you own several bottles of the same wine. Your purchase price is shown next to it for reference. Values are saved as you go, with today's date — the same per-bottle valuations the Wine Portfolio uses. A line you leave blank becomes a box to fill in by hand after printing, by you or an appraiser.

Tap Create insurance report (PDF) when you are done.

What's in the report

Owner and date.
A summary: number of wines, number of bottles, total purchase value and total estimated value, per currency.
Storage conditions from your cellar settings — cellar type, temperature, humidity, temperature stability, light, ventilation, vibration and bottle position — when you have filled them in.
One line per bottle: producer, wine, vintage, region, format, purchase price, vendor, whether you have a receipt, and estimated value.

Disclaimer

Values in the report are based on your purchase prices and the estimates you enter. OENARI does not value your wine. Always check with your insurance provider.

Wine Portfolio PDF Premium

In Menu → Wine Portfolio, Export PDF (top right) creates a statement of the bottles you follow as investments — for the bank, the accountant or your own records.

A summary in your portfolio currency: holdings, cost basis, value and unrealised result; bottles sold, proceeds, cost and realised result.
One line per bottle you hold: bought, cost, your latest value, when you valued it, and the change.
One line per bottle sold: bought, sold, cost, proceeds and result.

Bottles without a purchase date are marked and counted from the day they were added to OENARI; bottles without a price are left out of the cost basis. Values are your own estimates, not an official valuation.

Data format reference

OENARI's CSV and Excel exports follow these conventions:

Encoding: UTF-8 with BOM (opens correctly in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers)
Delimiter: comma (,), every field in double quotes (")
Column headers: always English, whatever language the app is in
Date format: ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DD)
Decimal separator: period (.)
Multi-value fields: comma-separated inside the field (grapes: Pinot Noir, Gamay)

A cell that starts with =, +, - or @ is escaped so a spreadsheet does not run it as a formula.

If you need a specific format variant for your workflow, contact support.

Migrating to another platform

If you're leaving OENARI, your data is yours.

To another app: take the Basic backup CSV, or the Cellar sheet of the Full backup, and use the other app's import tool. You may need to rename column headers to match its expected format.
For a complete backup: the Full backup holds your cellar, consumed bottles, tasting notes and wishlist in one file.
