v4.2 — 30 September 2026

Wine Portfolio returns, prices work across currencies, and the importer understands far more files. What's New has the tour.

Wine Portfolio Premium

  • Choose which bottles are investments; only those are followed, each on its own, from purchase to sale.
  • Put a bottle in the portfolio when you add it, from the bottle, or with Add bottles in the portfolio. Portfolio bottles carry the Portfolio tag.
  • Value each bottle yourself. Every valuation is kept, so you see the value over time.
  • Cost is counted at the exchange rate on the day you bought, sales on the day you sold.
  • Sold bottles show what you paid, what you got and the result.
  • Export the portfolio as a PDF, one line per bottle.
  • Check price opens Wine-Searcher for the wine and vintage.

Prices & currency

  • The wine page shows what other collectors paid on average, once at least three have bought it. Never anyone's own price.
  • Cellar value is converted properly when bottles were bought in different currencies.
  • New accounts get the currency of their region. If yours looks wrong, the portfolio asks once.
  • A new bottle's purchase date starts at today.
  • Personal statistics show your sales and your cellar per vintage.
  • The insurance report lists every bottle on its own line, with its own value.

Wines

  • New colour: amber, for vin jaune, oxidative sherries, aged Tokaji and Madeira.
  • Designation of origin (AOP, DOCG, VQA, Prädikatswein …) can be chosen when adding or improving a wine, and shows on the wine page.
  • The colour filter lists real colours, including orange and amber. Sparkling, dessert and fortified are in the Style filter.
  • A wine you own is no longer removed by moderation; it is merged into the right wine instead.

Tasting

  • Translate a tasting note written in another language. The translation is marked, and the original is one tap away.
  • A note someone has already translated into your language shows translated right away, in the feed too.
  • Delete a tasting session, as long as it isn't running.

Import

  • A file that isn't a cellar list, like a restaurant menu, is stopped before anything is imported, with the reason.
  • Columns are recognised better in files from CellarTracker, Vivino, InVinum and others.
  • Prices, quantities and dates written in other ways, like "1 200 kr" or "31/03/2024", no longer stop an import.
  • Section headings in a list are no longer imported as wines.
  • Large imports finish much faster.
  • "Unknown" in a store column no longer becomes a store.
  • A vintage written into the wine name, like "2015 Tignanello", is recognised and no longer ends up in the name.
  • A wine named only after its château, like "Château Margaux", is shown for review instead of being matched to the second wine.
  • Consumed bottles from CellarTracker are matched on producer too, so they land on the right wine.
  • Undoing an import also removes the notes and new wines it created.

Label scanning

  • A Cancel button before the first photo is taken.
  • Wines with long label names are found more often.
  • Label scanning and food pairing use a newer, stronger AI model.

Notifications

  • Notifications reach iPhones again.
  • Several moderation results arrive as one notification instead of many.

Look

  • New illustrations throughout: empty lists, exports, locked features, sign-up and connection errors.
  • Orange wines get their own bottle image.
  • Achievements that would reveal how many bottles you own say so, instead of offering a switch that does nothing.

Fixes

  • Sparkling and fortified wines get the right serving temperature and glass.
  • Serving advice on the wine page uses the wine's real vintage.
  • Only ports that need it are advised to be decanted.
  • Going back after deleting a tasting no longer shows an error.
  • Faster: the database checks who you are once per request instead of once per row.
  • Images load from cache, and AI features work in the web app.
  • Security improvements.

v4.1 — 26 September 2026

A release about speed and scanning.

Scanning

  • Label scanning works again.
  • If a label can't be read, the app tells you why.
  • A manual search that finds nothing now says so.
  • Members are no longer sent to the upgrade screen when opening the scanner.
  • When this month's scans are used up, you're told the result is a simpler one.

Faster

  • Screens you've already visited open right away and update in the background.
  • Changes to a bottle show up everywhere, no pull to refresh needed.
  • Wine search is quicker.

Home

  • Wine names are back in Recently added, Ready to drink and Past peak.
  • Bottle images and flags, one row per wine.
  • Tapping a wine in Ready to drink or Past peak opens the full sheet with photo and producer.

Look

  • New illustrations for consumed bottles.
  • Consumed, Tasted and Wishlist show name and producer like My Wines.
  • Each consumed bottle shows what happened to it and when.
  • The wine page shows the wine's name with the producer below.

Fixes

  • The purchase currency could be saved as EUR by mistake.
  • The username screen no longer flashes after signing back in.
  • E-mail settings could reset if they failed to load.
  • Wishlist buttons and notification links go to the right place.
  • Fixed a crash when opening one bottle sheet right after another.
  • Many texts that were only in English are now translated.
  • Wine Portfolio was hidden while it was rebuilt (it returned in 4.2).
  • Deleting your account also removes your photos and receipts. Label photos you shared stay with the wines.
  • Prices and alcohol typed with a comma, like 13,5, are saved correctly.
  • Picking a different wine during an import now imports that wine.
  • Backups and exports include everything, not just the first 200 bottles.
  • Exports work in the browser.
  • Security improvements.

Web

  • A proper start page at app.oenari.com.
  • Page titles in the browser tab.
  • Links to producers, vendors and settings open the right page.
  • The tab bar is no longer cut off.
  • Date pickers and image uploads work in the browser.
  • Notifications are the right size.
  • Food → Wine shows an error if your cellar doesn't load.

v4.0 "Rioja" — September 2026

Community & Social. The first release where OENARI is something you can use together with other people. Everything social is opt-in; your cellar stays private.

Community & social

  • Public profiles — pick a handle and decide what the world sees. Everything stays private until you activate one, and profiles default to private (you approve each follower).
  • Follow other collectors and see their tasting notes in a new Community feed.
  • Like tasting notes, and see who liked yours.
  • Find people by handle, and open any profile from a note or a session.
  • Achievements on your profile — you choose which ones to show.
  • Your taste profile — favourite grapes, style and region — on your public page.

Taste sessions

  • Host a tasting, invite people, score wines together and reveal them one by one.
  • Blind or open format, in person or online.
  • Open sessions — publish a tasting anyone can apply to join, with the wine list visible so guests know what to bring.
  • Live sync: scores and reveals appear for everyone as they happen.
  • Invite by handle, by e-mail, or with a join code.

Wine clubs

  • Create a club, invite members, and run tastings that reach everyone without individual invitations.
  • Public clubs anyone can apply to, or private clubs by invitation only.
  • A noticeboard for club announcements.
  • Roles: owners and admins approve members and host sessions.

Home & discovery

  • The Home screen now has two sides: Overview for your cellar, Community for everyone else.
  • Top contributors — see who adds the most wines, barcodes, label photos and notes.
  • Most collected producers and most used vendors.
  • Cellar health now shows occupancy, your cellar score and free slots together.

Notifications & activity

  • A real activity feed: follows, likes, invitations and reveals, in one place.
  • Push notifications for social events, in all seven languages.
  • Per-type notification settings.

Safety & privacy

  • Report and block, with a moderation queue behind it.
  • Report incorrect data on any wine, producer or vendor.
  • Complete account deletion and data export.
  • Profiles default to private — you decide when to be visible.

Import rebuilt

  • Interrupted imports can be resumed — leaving the screen no longer loses your place.
  • Import history, with 24 hours to undo an import that went wrong.
  • Vintages like "Non vintage", "NV" and "Multi-Vintage" are understood; unreadable years no longer drop the bottle.
  • Matching decides by confidence: strong matches go straight in, uncertain ones ask, weak ones become new wines instead of attaching to the wrong bottle.
  • Bulk actions in review — handle the whole no-match pile at once.
  • CellarTracker imports learn from each other: a wine one person identifies is recognised instantly for everyone after.
  • The currency in your file is respected; the picker only fills rows that leave it blank.
  • Negative prices, unknown currencies and impossible quantities are cleaned rather than stored.
  • Import from a file is offered where you need it — an empty cellar, and My Wines before your first import.

Fixes

  • Successful imports no longer report themselves as failed.
  • Rosé, orange and uncategorised wines now show a bottle image again.
  • The "recently added" filter now actually filters.
  • Consumption history records every bottle again, including four months that were missing.
  • Producer and vendor lists open instantly instead of taking a quarter of a second.
  • Wine Profile shows your handle instead of an empty name.
  • Recently added wines on the Home screen are tappable.
  • Drinking-window statistics unfrozen after a long-standing bug.
  • Deleting a tasting session works again.
  • Scores from a tasting appear under each wine as people submit them.
  • Blind tastings stay blind for open sessions too, and the host can set or correct a vintage.
  • Your own profile opens before you activate it, so you can activate it.
  • Handles that cannot be opened are no longer shown as links.
  • Achievements are ordered by tier, highest first.

v3.1.0 — July 7, 2026

OENARI on the web. OENARI now runs in your browser at app.oenari.com — sign in with your existing account and your cellar stays in sync across app and web. Uploads replace the camera in the browser; scanning stays in the mobile apps.

v3.0 "Bordeaux" — June 23, 2026

Wine Intelligence. This release brings AI into the everyday flow of managing your cellar, alongside a refreshed visual identity.

  • AI label scan — point your camera at a bottle's label and let OENARI read the producer, wine, and vintage for you.
  • AI food pairing — get pairing suggestions both ways: from a wine to dishes, and from a dish to wines in your cellar.
  • Smarter import — CSV/Excel import now matches your wines against the community database far more accurately.
  • Vintage quality data — region-by-year vintage reports help you judge how a bottle's year is regarded.
  • New look — the "Archive" identity — one refined design language expressed across five themes: Archive, Linen, Cellar, Editorial, and Candlelit. The earlier theme set has been consolidated into these five; existing theme choices are carried over automatically.
  • Seven interface languages: English, Swedish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.

  • Fixed registration errors caused by weak or leaked passwords, with clearer guidance.

The official release. OENARI is now available on the App Store and Google Play.

This is the culmination of months of development, testing, and refinement with our beta community. Everything from cellar management and tasting notes to achievements and seven visual themes is included in this release.

Thank you to everyone who tested, reported bugs, and helped shape OENARI into what it is today.
